About the RR Forum

 
The RR Forum brings together public and private stakeholders—regulatory and enforcement agencies; attorneys general; public health agencies and advocates; retailers and their associations; distributors and producers; and researchers—in order to (1) identify and promulgate Best Practices to prevent underage sales of age-restricted products; and (2) examine the impacts of RR policies from the diverse perspectives of these different stakeholders.

The RRF’s 6th national meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday – Wednesday, April 22 - 23, 2008 in Pittsburgh, PA at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel. RRF is pleased to announce that the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is hosting and sponsoring the 2008 national meeting.

STOP Act Report now available

 

The Alcohol Policy Work Group has produced an examination, presented to SAMHSA, of the implementation issues relating to the recently enacted federal legislation, the STOP Act. For the full re-port, click here.

 

Responsible Retailing Forum Partners with "We Don't Serve Teens"

 


The Responsible Retailing Forum is a partner in We Don't Serve Teens , a consumer education program spreading the message that serving alcohol to teens is unsafe, illegal, and irresponsible.

Alcohol retailers can order We Don't Serve Teens point of sale materials free of charge from The Century Council.

RR Forum Develops New Responsible Retailing Model
In 2001, a team of national experts produced a federal guidance document, Report on Best Practices for Responsible Retailing, reflecting the experiences and insights of retailers, alcohol control boards and other state regulatory and enforcement agencies ("R-E agencies"), state attorneys general, and academic researchers. The Best Practices identified in that report have been further developed by the Responsible Retailing Forum into an "Integrated Responsible Retailing" model. (more)



RR Forum Noted in FTC's Alcohol Marketing
& Advertising Report to Congress

During this past year, the many stakeholders in the alcohol control process, including state alcohol agencies, state law enforcement officials, representatives of major retail outlets, and alcohol producers, wholesalers, and distributors, organized under the aegis of the Responsible Retailing Forum (RR Forum) to evaluate what changes are needed to reduce minors' ability to purchase alcohol in retail outlets.
