Jasper Alcohol Ordinances remain the same!

Good Morning Everyone!

We have good news. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministerial Alliance, First Baptist Church, Hamilton County Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Coalition and Concerned Citizens of Jasper, the Jasper City Council did not vote to pass the proposed ordinances that would have removed the restricted areas for Alcohol Sales and the change in hours that would have allowed sales of alcohol 7 days a week and one hour later every day.

The ordinances remain the same..Sales will not be allowed within 300 feet of churches and schools and sales will only be 7 am-12 am Monday through Saturday.

The new ordinances would have been a step backwards for our community. The citizens realize that we must support our schools by providing a safe environment for our youth. We must all work together to improved the academic achievement of our students. That means we work to have safer, drug free homes with better family management and less alcohol and drug abuse in the homes where our children live. We all recognize that these improvements start first with the home.

Thanks again for all of your support to providing a safer, and drug free Hamilton County!
