SARG Manual: Phase III

The following coalitions are ready to complete their logic models based on the recommendations of the Evidence Based Workgroup and SECAPT staff. Their final logic models should now be officially logged into the eSARG Phase I.

Phase II resource inventory will be reviewed at the same time as the action plans of Phase III.

The attached Phase III description and its form (two attachments) must be completed, reviewed and approved before any amendment takes place. We are requesting that each coalition and its coach meet by phone with Carol and Senta to review their plan before they get too far into the process. This allows all of us to be at the same level of understanding as soon as possible.

Reminders:

1. As you plan your strategies please look at existing lists and peer reviewed journal articles to assist you in getting to evidence based strategies - programs, practices and policies. (Yes, this means enivronmental strategies.)

2. Capacity building should be at least one of your goals.

3. You may build an action plan that is bigger than what SPF will pay for - there are other agencies (here at the state level) that are aware of your work and may be able to fund parts of your plan. It will also help you to find local funders. When we collect all of your goals and objectives here at the state level it will help us understand the full extent of the work that's necessary.

4. We deliberately set a range of dollars for each plan. We want to fund you to the fullest amount possible yet we have a large state to try to cover. As the action plans come online we will adjust our budget and if additional funds are available we'll be able to provide additional resources.

5. Some counties are already working on purchasing cooperatives. We support and foster relationships that maximize the impact of your work.

6. MOUs are critical. You will need them with partners who will be part of your capacity building plans.

7. Think about the baseline data that you will need. In the 18 months of your plans you it is unlikely that you'll be able to measure changes in consequences and consumption/behavior. That will be true of some of your contributing factors as well. That's why we would like to talk to you about your goals and objectives as you are working on them - so that you are measuring things that will change over this time frame and that we have evidence that that type of change will impact the behavior and consequence.

Moving forward this month are:

Palm Beach and Pasco will be in Wave 2.
