FCPR receives 5-year, $6 million contract to conduct applied opioid research in Florida
The Florida Center for Prevention Research at FSU recently received a 5-year, $6 million contract from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DFC), Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, to conduct applied opioid research in Florida. Under the direction of Dr. Cindy Wilson, PI and Dr. April Yun, Co-PI, this project aims to provide applied research services, including surveillance and innovative solutions to areas specific to the state’s opioid abatement strategies funded by Florida’s Opioid Settlement Trust Fund. FCPR is partnering with ISF, a Tallahassee government consulting and IT firm, to support DFC’s implementation and evaluation of the Opioid Settlement funding and opioid abatement programs by conducting research projects for opioid-related topics. This project also includes collaboration with faculty from the FSU College of Social Work and the FSU Survey Foundry.
